General Description:

8u an easy going developmental program, prepping kids for more competition in travel ball starting in 10u. There is lots of parent involvement. Most kids are still learning to catch and throw. Kids and parents have had a lot of fun.

Frequent Questions:

1.   When does softball start for 8U and when does it go to? It usually begins toward the end of May and runs through mid July.

2.   Do kids play games or do they only practice? Kids practice first part of the session, and then coaches often work playing situations into practice.

3.   How many times per week are practices and are there regular days? Historically, we have practice one or two evenings a week until league starts. Then one practice and one game per week.

4.   How many times per week are games held, if any? We are members of the Southern Star League. There are 10 teams from area communities that we play during league play.

5.   If they do play games how much travel is there? Yes, we do play games on Monday nights. Teams from New Ulm, St. Peter, Lake Crystal, Mankato, etc... have teams. Most travel is less than 1/2 hour drive. Home games will be at Washington Elementary.

6.   Where do practices take place? Most are held on Washington Elementary Fields.
